Toronto’s Ultimate Travel Show features Ukraine
CUF joins US-Ukraine Foundation to promote tourismTORONTO – Ukraine was showcased for the first time during Toronto’s Ultimate Travel Show held January 23-24 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The annual show, the largest of its kind in Canada, offered visitors the world under one roof. Canada Ukraine Foundation (CUF) partnered with the Canada Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and the US-Ukraine Foundation to promote tourism and travel to Ukraine. The Foundation also worked closely with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Toronto.
The exhibit presented a variety of material about Ukraine, its rich culture and heritage, as well as the offerings of the country’s different regions, cities and vacation spots. It proved very popular with both the average traveler exploring new travel destinations as well travel agents looking to expand their services into Eastern Europe.
The US-Ukraine Foundation distributed a Discover Ukraine brochure and a Discover Ukraine Travel Guide for the travel show attendees. Three display stands provided beautiful scenes of Ukraine while computer monitors illustrated the country’s sights. The Consulate General of Ukraine provided brochures highlighting the attractions of both Ukraine in general as well as specific major cities.
“The Foundation was very pleased with this joint project which showcased the beauty of Ukraine while boosting tourism, a major component of the country’s future development,” said CUF President, Bob Onyschuk. “We look forward to future joint ventures to aid Ukraine’s progress as a young democracy.”
CUF is a non-profit, charitable organization which develops and coordinates assistance projects originated by Canadians and directed to Ukraine.
