Update Pandemic (H1N1):Nov. 6, 2009 Ministry of Health of Ukraine

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2009 The Ministry of Health of Ukraine released the following information thru its Press Centre (see attached), that as of Friday, the pandemic now covers 14 Oblasts, who now have reported cases that exceed WHO standards for pandemic proportions (those Oblasts shown in red), and that • The pandemic now includes Kyiv, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, and Kirovograd, all of whom now exceed WHO standards for epidemic status • Total persons sick of the flu, serious respiratory illnesses or pneumonia -- 871,037, which has ballooned from 250,000 on Wednesday morning • 101,317 new cases in the last 24 hours, including 37,031 chidren (persons under 18 yrs od age) • Total hospitalized -- 39,603, up from 15,810 on Wednesday. • Total deaths -- 135, of which 25 were in the last 24 hrs.
