The National Holodomor Museum
“…perhaps the classic example of Soviet genocide,
its longest and broadest experiment in Russification
– the destruction of the Ukrainian nation."
“…This is not simply a case of mass murder.
The Holodomor is a case of genocide, of the destruction,
not of individuals only, but of a culture and a nation."
– Raphael Lemkin, the architect of the UN Convention against Genocide
Vision of the Museum
The National Holodomor Museum will be a living memorial to Holodomor victims and a research centre,
which will inspire Ukrainians and all other international communities and their leaders to fight for freedom,
dignity and human rights in the world, and to oppose intolerance, hate, crimes against humanity and genocide.
Mission of the Museum
The National Holodomor Museum will be a state-of-the-art, integrated exhibition museum and research centre
which tells the story of the Holodomor, the genocide of millions of innocent Ukrainians by starvation.
