The Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) provides funding for non-profit initiatives that address and respond to urgent and long-term needs in Ukraine.
Eligible applicants include:

Only initiatives that align with one or more of CUF’s four funding areas will be considered.
Please do not contact program officers or board members directly. CUF does not review or accept unsolicited proposals submitted outside the official application process.

CUF currently accepts proposals in the following categories:
Humanitarian Initiatives
Maximum CUF Contribution: $100,000
Initiatives that deliver urgent humanitarian assistance in areas such as food security, emergency shelter, energy resilience. healthcare and basic needs, to people facing crises like violent conflict, natural disasters, pandemics or economic crises – including situations where many of these threats occur simultaneously.
Maximum CUF Contribution: $50,000
Initiatives that protect and support individuals and communities, including children, who face violations of their basic human and/or civil rights. Projects may also focus on advancing social development, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting the rule of law.
Education Initiatives
Maximum CUF Contribution: $10,000
Programs that promote and advance education through training and capacity building.
Heritage, Arts & Culture Initiatives
Maximum CUF Contribution: $5,000
Programs that preserve and promote Ukrainian cultural heritage through diverse forms of the arts.

There are five stages to CUF’s funding application and selection process.
Review funding priorities
Applicants must read CUF’s funding approach to ensure their project aligns with CUF’s funding areas.
Submit your application online
Applicants must complete and submit the application online during the intake period. If more details are required, CUF will contact the applicant.
Due diligence review
Each application undergoes a rigorous due diligence process. If questions arise during the review process, CUF will contact the applicant for more information and / or set up a call. CUF will inform applicants of the application review status within 45 business days after the intake period closes.
Final review and approval
CUF’s Programming Committees make the final decision to approve or decline eligible applications.
Notification of decision
CUF will contact applicants when the final decision is made. Please note that, due to organizational limitations, CUF cannot provide individual assessments, clarifications, or feedback on declined proposals.
