In hospitals across Ukraine, civilians, including children, parents, and veterans, arrive with injuries so severe they will need years of complex reconstruction. Faces shattered by missiles. Lives changed in a single moment.
The scale of this suffering is almost impossible to comprehend. But what stands out even more is the courage of the people who endure it… and the doctors who refuse to give up on them.
Through the Canada Ukraine Surgical Aid Program (CUSAP), volunteer surgeons from Canada, Ukraine, and abroad bring not only medical expertise but also the promise of dignity, quality of life, and a future where survivors can look in the mirror and see more than what was taken from them.
Every surgery is a defiance of the brutality that caused these wounds. Every patient rebuilt is a reminder that compassion is stronger than destruction.
