Your help needed now
Ukraine faces a devastating new humanitarian crisis that demands our immediate attention. Recent Russian missile strikes have deliberately targeted and destroyed three major pharmaceutical warehouses in Kharkiv and Dnipro, wiping out tens of millions of dollars worth of critical medical supplies. These attacks weren’t just against buildings—they were calculated strikes against Ukraine’s healthcare system, leaving 257 frontline hospitals without essential medications just as winter sets in.
According to our partner AICM Ukraine (the Association Internationale de Coopération Médicale in Ukraine), it will take 12 to 20 weeks to replenish these vital stocks, creating a life-threatening gap during the coldest months when medical needs peak.

The Canada-Ukraine Foundation has worked closely with AICM Ukraine throughout this war, and we have immediately mobilized and are responding swiftly to this emergency thanks to the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
AICM Ukraine is already coordinating international suppliers to secure urgent shipments of basic hospital necessities—disinfectants, IV fluids, pain relievers, anesthetics, and antibiotics. Last week alone, they delivered 25 tons of medication to 17 hospitals in the Sumy region along the Russian border, where daily bombardments continue. These hospitals serve both civilian casualties and wounded defenders, and without immediate resupply, they cannot function through the winter months ahead.

We have rapidly directed emergency funds to help AICM Ukraine address this crisis, but the scale of destruction requires broader support from Canadians. We’re committed to ensuring that frontline medical workers have the supplies they need to save lives, even as Russia attempts to cripple Ukraine’s healthcare infrastructure. Every contribution helps us purchase and deliver critical medicines directly to hospitals under fire, where doctors and nurses work tirelessly despite impossible conditions.
This holiday season, we invite you to support the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to show how “A Little Holiday Magic Can Go a Long Way”.
By donating by January 12, your donation will be matched by the Myhal Family Foundation and will bring life-saving medicines to Ukrainian hospitals facing their most challenging winter. Together, we can transform the spirit of giving into real, tangible hope for those who need it most.
Every moment counts—help us deliver this critical aid before winter’s full force arrives.

About the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
Launched in January 2022 as a joint initiative of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal (UHA) coordinates the efficient delivery of humanitarian aid in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Its efforts support displaced persons, medical care, emergency shelter, and food security—both within Ukraine and among those who have sought refuge elsewhere in Europe and in Canada. To date, UHA has provided close to $100 million in humanitarian aid, reaching over 6 million people through 300+ projects.
About the Canada-Ukraine Foundation
Founded in 1995 during the 18th Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), the Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) was established to coordinate, develop, and deliver humanitarian assistance from Canadians to Ukraine. CUF continues to play a vital role as a national charitable foundation, working to monitor, promote, and support humanitarian aid initiatives. Its mission includes evaluating projects, fostering collaboration among aid providers, setting strategic priorities, and ensuring resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact. CUF also serves as a forum for individuals and organizations—across community, private, and public sectors—committed to supporting Ukraine. In addition to its work abroad, CUF also supports related initiatives within Canada.
