Meet the volunteer surgeons bringing hope where it’s needed most
When Ukraine needed them most, they answered the call.
Since 2014, the Canada Ukraine Surgical Aid Program (CUSAP), founded by Dr. Oleh Antonyshyn, has united volunteer Canadian and Ukrainian medical professionals to bring surgical care to civilians and veterans across Ukraine.
These doctors work side by side in operating rooms under extraordinary circumstances. Each mission delivers more than life-changing surgeries. It delivers hope. It reminds Ukrainian families that the world has not turned away.
Through CUSAP, hundreds of complex surgeries have given many the chance to walk again, parents the chance to return home, and veterans the chance to rebuild their lives. The need remains critical, and these medical teams continue to answer that call.
