Together into 2026: thank you for making it possible

As we closed the chapter on 2025 and look toward a new year, we want to sincerely thank you for your support of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. Because of your generosity, we continued to deliver vital humanitarian aid to Ukraine, reaching millions of people together with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress through our joint CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Your support has been a lifeline for families facing the unimaginable hardships of Russia’s ongoing war.

2025 also reminded us that compassion knows no borders. When devastating wildfires swept through Manitoba and Saskatchewan this summer, displacing families and destroying homes, CUF and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress came together to support Canadians. We donated $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to provide much-needed relief to communities now facing their own crisis. We partnered with GlobalMedic to provide fire skids to volunteer fire departments in high-risk communities.

It was our way of giving back to Canadians who have given so much to help Ukraine remain resilient.

We invite you to watch this short video of our support in action.

This spirit of mutual aid highlights the resilience of the Ukrainian people, a community that, even while defending their homeland against Russian aggression, continues to extend a helping hand to those in need. It is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we stand together, fostering hope and unity.

From all of us at the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, thank you for helping power our work in 2025 and for being part of what lies ahead for Ukraine. We look forward to continuing this vital work with you in 2026.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful, healthy, and hopeful New Year!

About the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Launched in January 2022 as a joint initiative of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal (UHA) coordinates the efficient delivery of humanitarian aid in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Its efforts support displaced persons, medical care, emergency shelter, and food security—both within Ukraine and among those who have sought refuge elsewhere in Europe and in Canada. To date, UHA has provided close to $100 million in humanitarian aid, reaching over 6 million people through 300+ projects.

About the Canada-Ukraine Foundation

Founded in 1995 during the 18th Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), the Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) was established to coordinate, develop, and deliver humanitarian assistance from Canadians to Ukraine. CUF continues to play a vital role as a national charitable foundation, working to monitor, promote, and support humanitarian aid initiatives. Its mission includes evaluating projects, fostering collaboration among aid providers, setting strategic priorities, and ensuring resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact. CUF also serves as a forum for individuals and organizations—across community, private, and public sectors—committed to supporting Ukraine. In addition to its work abroad, CUF also supports related initiatives within Canada.
