Final days of our Holiday Campaign

Help us finish strong

In the final week of our Holiday Campaign, we invite you to see the real-world impact of your generosity. These projects show how your support is reaching Ukrainians through the CUF–UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, our joint initiative with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, and our partners working on the ground.

Clean water where it’s needed most

In many frontline regions, damaged infrastructure has left entire villages without reliable access to safe drinking water.

The CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal enables partners such as Rebuild Our Ukraine (REUA) and Power in UA to deploy mobile water-filtration units directly to affected communities, producing thousands of litres of clean water daily and protecting individuals from disease as they are living under unimaginable stress.

Providing sustenance through emergency food hampers

For refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs), a common question is painful: what will we eat tonight? Thanks to our partnership with GlobalMedic, emergency food hampers have evolved since 2022 and are distributed filled with culturally familiar and nutritious pantry staples — rice, flour, grains, sunflower oil and canned vegetables, fish and meat — sourced locally whenever possible. Designed with input from displaced Ukrainians and local partners, these food hampers offer not just nourishment, but dignity and vital support.

A place to sleep – mobile housing for the displaced

When shelling forces Ukrainians to flee their homes, they spend weeks sleeping in crowded temporary shelters. Thanks to the Humanitarian Aid Response Team (HART) and funding through the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, mobile housing units are being provided to vulnerable families in Kherson Oblast, giving them a private, heated place to sleep, wash, and breathe again as they stay near their homes during reconstruction. These temporary shelters restore a sense of safety when everything else has been suddenly taken and addresses the urgent housing crisis caused by Russia’s war.

Warmth and dignity thanks to winterization kits

As the power continues to go out in the dead of winter in Ukraine due to massive strikes by Russia, the cold seeps into every corner of daily life. Our partner GlobalMedic also delivers thousands of winterization kits filled with warm blankets and essential hygiene items such as soap, shampoo,, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine care products, detergent, shaving cream and razors — helping Ukrainians stay healthy when temperatures plunge below freezing. Shaped by input from community partners, these kits are more than supplies: they are protection, dignity, and relief.

From all of us at the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, thank you for standing with Ukraine when it matters most. Together, we are not just responding to a crisis — we are restoring hope.

There is still time to be part of these stories. If you have been meaning to give, this is the time to donate to our Holiday Campaign which runs until January 12.

About the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Launched in January 2022 as a joint initiative of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal (UHA) coordinates the efficient delivery of humanitarian aid in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Its efforts support displaced persons, medical care, emergency shelter, and food security—both within Ukraine and among those who have sought refuge elsewhere in Europe and in Canada. To date, UHA has provided close to $100 million in humanitarian aid, reaching over 6 million people through 300+ projects.

About the Canada-Ukraine Foundation

Founded in 1995 during the 18th Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), the Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) was established to coordinate, develop, and deliver humanitarian assistance from Canadians to Ukraine. CUF continues to play a vital role as a national charitable foundation, working to monitor, promote, and support humanitarian aid initiatives. Its mission includes evaluating projects, fostering collaboration among aid providers, setting strategic priorities, and ensuring resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact. CUF also serves as a forum for individuals and organizations—across community, private, and public sectors—committed to supporting Ukraine. In addition to its work abroad, CUF also supports related initiatives within Canada.
