Four years in. The urgency remains.

Powering recovery where it matters most

Four years into Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the images that once galvanized Canadians have been overtaken by a constant stream of global crises.

In today’s 24/7 media cycle, attention shifts quickly. But the war has not.

In a message to Canada-Ukraine Foundation (CUF) supporters, former Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine and CUF Board Member Roman Waschuk reflects on why this moment requires renewed focus.

After four years, Ukrainians continue to defend their country against relentless aggression. They have made extraordinary sacrifices. They have amazed the world with their endurance.

But resilience alone is not enough.

The Canada-Ukraine Foundation brings decades of experience working with Ukraine. As a non-governmental organization, CUF can respond quickly to urgent needs while also maintaining a long-term, multi-generational perspective on transformational recovery.

This is not short-term aid. It is sustained partnership.

Recovery powered by Ukrainian resilience and Canadian generosity.
